The manager of Romania’s women’s team, Mircea Roman, said that at the European Championship in the Czech Republic, his trainees’ results were far better than expected. However, Mircea Roman warns, despite the team’s excellent medal record in Racice, it will be very difficult at the World Championships in the US this coming fall. Roman said “I am not at all exhilarated, despite these results. I know what we are going to be up against at the World Championships.”
The current president of the Romanian Rowing Federation, the former great champion Elisabeta Lipa said she was happy and proud of the results the national teams obtained in Racice. “I am happy about and proud of the results of our rowing teams at the European Championships in the Czech Republic“, Lipa posted on her Twitter account. “Considering the standards of today’s sport, three gold medals and a silver one mean a lot,” Lipa also added.
