News from handball, rugby and football
Sunday will see the return matches of the quarterfinals of the women’s handball Champions League. Romanian champions CSM Bucharest will play away from home against the French team Metz Handball. In the first match, in Bucharest, CSM won 34-21. Given last week’s results, the Romanian handballers have good chances to qualify to the Final Four tournament to be hosted by Budapest. The Romanians said they would not go to Metz to play a defensive match, as 13 goals are not enough to ensure their qualification. The coach of CSM Bucharest, Per Johansson, said that the return match would be very difficult and only the best four teams in the world will reach the Final Four.
