It is also known for its picturesque traditional villages and local products such as ouzo and olive oil. Prominent personalities were born on the island, including the poets Sappho and Alcaeus, the philosopher Theophrastus, the painters Theophilos and Georgios Jakobides, and the Nobel laureate, poet and essayist Odysseas Elytis.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>RRI\u2019s Eugen Cojocariu spoke about Lesvos and the Golden Apple with Konstantinos Moutzouris, the Governor of the North Aegean Region.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\"
