VISIT Romania’s Prime Minister Viorica Dancila is paying a formal visit
\nto Slovakia at the invitation of her Slovakian counterpart, Peter Pellegrini.
\nAccording to a communiqu\u00e9 of the government in Bucharest, the visit is meant to
\ncontribute to deepening cooperation between the two states, from a bilateral,
\nEuropean and regional perspective. Dancila will be traveling to Banska Bystrica
\nfor talks with the head of the Slovakian executive and will lay a wreath in the
\nNational Insurrection Square. The Romanian official will next travel to the
\ncity of Zvolen for a visit to the local military cemetery where the remains of 10
\nthousand Romanian soldiers, who fought for the liberation of Czechoslovakia in

MEETING An informal meeting of the EU finance ministers is taking
\nplace in Romania’s capital Bucharest on Friday and Saturday, against the
\nbackdrop of Romania’s holding the EU presidency. The meeting hosted today under
\nthe name Eurogrup, is bringing together Finance Ministers from the Eurozone and
\nthe first working session of the informal meeting of Finance Ministers and
\ncentral bank governors, chaired by Romania’s field minister Eugen Teodorovici. Saturday
\nwill see the second informal meeting of EU Finance Ministers. Issues such as
\nthe impact of labour force mobility upon local economies and the role of
\ntaxation in fostering economic growth are high on the agenda of the session on

DEFENCE Romania’s Defence Minister Gabriel Les is in Warsaw to
\nattend a meeting of Defence Ministers from countries, which are members of the Bucharest
\n9 Initiative. The meeting, staged jointly by field ministries from Poland and
\nRomania, is being attended by Defence Ministers from Bulgaria, the Czech
\nRepublic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary as
\nwell as by NATO officials and representatives of the US Department of Defence.
\nAccording to the Romanian Defence Ministry, the meeting in Warsaw is an
\nopportunity for tackling topical issues on NATO and EU agendas from the
\nperspective of NATO anniversary summit and from Romania’s holding the EU

DRILL Between April 5th and 13th the
\nRomanian navy is staging the biggest international drill in Romania’s
\nterritorial waters and in the international waters of the Black Sea. 14
\nRomanian warships and six from Bulgaria, Canada, Greece, the Netherlands and
\nTurkey are taking part in the drill during which over 2000 servicemen will be
\ntraining to respond attacks coming from under the sea, air or surface. The
\ndrill’s scenario implies a coordinated crisis response carried out under a UN
\nSecurity Council resolution. The aforementioned drill also involves the
\nparticipation of the NATO Permanent Black Sea Force. <\/p>\n

\nRomanian international footballer, 22-year old Razvan Marin has signed a
\nfive-year contract with Ajax Amsterdam, which begins this summer, the famous
\nDutch club has announced. Razvan Marin is the fifth Romanian footballer who got
\ntransferred to Ajax, after Cristian Chivu, Bogdan Lobon\u0163, George Og\u0103raru and Nicolae Mitea. Another
\nRomanian, Stefan Kovacs was a headcoach for Ajax in the early 1970s. We recall
