INVESTMENT According to a report published by the Foreign Investors Council,
\nforeign investment in Romania amounts to a total of 75 billion euros, being
\ncomparable in size with the European funds. 90% of foreign investment in
\nRomania comes from EU members, Germany, France, Austria and the Netherlands. Investment
\nhas been made in all sectors of Romania’s economy, mainly in industry. Foreign
\ninvestment reached its climax around Romania’s EU accession, when it stood somewhere
\naround nine billion euros a year. At present foreign companies in Romania boast

FESTIVAL Over 50 cultural events were scheduled for Sunday, the last day of
\nthe 26th edition of the International Theatre Festival (FITS) hosted by Sibiu,
\na city in central Romania. This year’s edition unfolded under the motto The
\nArt to Give and also included circus performances, music, book launches and
\nother related events. The Walk of Fame in Sibiu on Saturday was added more
\nstars to honour celebrities from the local and international showbiz, including
\nRomanian actress Maia Morgenstern, Italian director and actor Pippo Delbono,
\nand the director of the Theatre de Ville and the Autumn Festival in Paris,
\nEmmanuel Demarcy-Mota. This year’s edition of FITS, which kicked off on June 14th,
\nincluded roughly 540 events held in 75 performance areas, and has been attended
\nby 33 hundred artists and invitees from 73 countries. FITS, which has Radio
\nRomania among its co-producers, has been described as the largest and most
