\nresponsible for the implementation of strategic partnerships, Mihai Fifor,
\nduring talks in Bucharest on Saturday with a delegation of the Moldovan
\nParliament led by vice-president Monica Babuc. Fifor has reiterated Bucharest’s
\nwillingness to provide its partners in Chisinau with expertise in different
\nfields, in particular that of European affairs, given Romania’s experience as
\nholder of the rotating presidency of the Council of the EU. The meeting in
\nBucharest was an opportunity to discuss the priorities of the bilateral
\nrelationship and joint development projects in the social and economic areas. The
\nRomanian government has every intention to continue the scholarship programmes for pupils studying in the neighbouring states
\nand the Balkans in Romanian or studying the Romanian language as mother tongue,
\nas well as its allowances for teachers of the Romanian language. With regard to
\nthe projects in the economic area, emphasis was placed on investments aimed at
\nenergy interconnection. <\/p>\n

\nElectoral Authority approved on Saturday the proposals of the Romanian diplomatic
\nmissions and consular offices regarding the headquarters of 444 voting stations
\nabroad for the presidential elections next month. The list submitted by the Romanian
\nforeign ministry also includes the 78 new voting stations to be established
\nbased on the requests registered by voters at the online address
\nvotstrainatate.ro. The foreign ministry is to submit new proposals for the
\nsetting up of new polling stations abroad by the 19th of October. As
\nfar as postal voting is concerned, the Permanent Electoral Authority has
\nannounced that the Romanian Postal Service has already distributed over 10,000
\nenvelopes abroad, with 4,500 more to be distributed shortly. The election
\ncampaign begins on the 12th of October. The first round will be held
\non the 10th of November, followed by a second on the 24th.

\nsays that after Brexit, his government wants an even closer relationship with

\norganised crime. The UK is due to leave the European Union on the 31st
