BUDGET The Finance Ministry is going to prepare a budget
\nadjustment, which could be ready in the second week of November, the Romanian
\nPublic Finance Minister Florin Citu announced on Monday. According to the
\nminister, maintaining the deficit announced in August, with a consolidating
\ntendency for the next year, is among the main objectives and the budget
\nrevenues are proof of the fact that this objective is achievable. Healthcare,
\ninvestment, Romania’s financial independence are some of the key priorities of

ELECTION In the Republic of Moldova (ex-Soviet, mostly
\nRomanian-speaking), pro-European candidate Maia Sandu won the first round of
\nSunday’s presidential election with more than 36% of the votes, according to
\npartial results. Maia Sandu is followed by pro-Russia President Igor Dodon,
\nwith more than 32 percent, and will face him in the second round of elections
\non November 15. In 3rd and 4th place were two candidates who are vying with
