On Saturday our players conceded a 3-2 defeat to the Netherlands. On Monday Romania takes on the local side. They will be playing Belgium on Tuesday and Portugal on Thursday. On Friday they will be playing Spain. The first four sides in the group will qualify for the round of 16.<\/p>\n<p>The World Rowing Championship kicks off in Amsterdam. Romania participates with several crews, who stand good chances to medals. We recall that Romanians put up a good show at the European Championships held in Italy early this month. Romania\u2019s rowers in Varese won gold in the men\u2019s and women\u2019s double scull races in the men\u2019s and women\u2019s eight and in mixed eights and scull sprints. In the world\u2019s championship held in Shanghai, in September, Romania\u2019s coxless pair and its mixed eight stepped onto the podium\u2019s highest step.<\/p>\n<p>Gloria Bistri\u0163a won Romania\u2019s Supercup in women\u2019s handball. Gloria outperformed CSM Bucharest 40-38 in the semis on Saturday and in the finals on Sunday, they clinched a 31-18 win against Corona Brasov. In \u00a0the 2026 \u2013 2027 edition of the Champions League, Romania will be represented by both Gloria and CSM.<\/p>\n<p>CSM went third in the past edition of the most important European competition.<\/p>\n<p>Last weekend saw the games of Romania\u2019s Superleague in football. On Friday, Rapid Bucharest clinched a 2-0 win against Petrolul Ploiesti. UTA and Corvinul Hunedoara ended in a goaless draw their match on Saturday, while Dinamo Bucharest clinched a 2-1 win against Universitatea Cluj. Sunday saw three matches; in Sfantu Gheorghe, central Romania, Sepsi versus Farul Constanta ended in a draw, one-all<\/p>\n<p>Then in Craiova, southern Romania, the local side, Universitatea, secured a 3-1 win against FC Voluntari. In Cluj, western Romania, local side CFR obtianed a 1-o win against FCSB.
