\nmeters of gas is already stored, and the energy plan stipulates 80% of the

\nof the drought, there is enough wheat to cover the domestic demand and export
\ncommitments and that there are no reasons to worry about the maize and sunflower

HEAT WAVE The prime minister of Romania
\nNicolae Ciuc\u0103 has today asked prefects to conduct information and prevention
\ncampaigns so that people are aware of the risks entailed by the high
\ntemperatures and that activities to mitigate the effects of the heat wave may
\nbe coordinated. He added that it was important for all localities to have cooling
\nshelters and medical teams providing assistance and free water. PM Ciuc\u0103 also requested the
\nauthorities to take steps to ensure navigability on the River Danube. The low
\nwater flow has made it nearly impossible to navigate the Danube, with several
\nvessels stranded in sand and scores of cruise ships cancelling their stopovers
\nin the port of Giurgiu over the past month. <\/p>\n

COVID-19 Nearly 7,400 new COVID cases
\nwere reported over the past 24 hours, out of around 24,400 tests, the
\nauthorities announced on Friday. Over 2,600 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised,
\n171 of them in intensive care. Seven COVID-related deaths have also been reported.
\nHospitals are beginning to take measures, including increasing the number of
\nbeds set aside for COVID patients, regular staff and patient testing, and
