She was defeated by Turkey’s Esra Y\u0131ld\u0131z Kahraman, a bronze medalist at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games and at last year’s World Championships in Ni\u0161, Serbia. Romania fielded nine athletes at the European Championships, including three women and six men. The Romanian national football team faces Sweden away on Friday in their opening match of the current Nations League edition. This will be followed on Monday, September 28, by a home match against Bosnia and Herzegovina in Bucharest, played behind closed doors.
