The city of Durban, in South
\nAfrica will this weekend play venue for the World Table Tennis Championships a
\ncompetition where Romania will be represented by its 17th seeded Bernadette
\nSz\u0151cs, and 27th – seeded Elizabeta Samara, as well as by Andreea
\nDragoman and Adina Diaconu. They will participate in the women’s competition
\nwhile Ovidiu Ionescu, Eduard Ionescu and Marius Movileanu will be representing
\nRomania in the men’s contest. In the women’s doubles, the pair made up by
\nBernadette Sz\u0151cs and Sofia Polcanova of Austria is fourth-seeded, whereas Dragoman
\nand Samara are seeded 14th. The 9th-seeded mixed pair Bernadette
\nSz\u0151cs – Ovidiu Ionescu also stands chances to a good performance in Durban. <\/p>\n

And now the latest from basketball.
\nOn Saturday, the city of Cluj-Napoca will be hosting the third game in the
\nfinals of Romania’s Championships. Local side U-BT will be up against CSM Oradea,
\nwhich won the first two home games, 79-73 and 93-83. The finals is played on
\nthe-best-out-of-seven system and the fourth game is due on Monday. <\/p>\n

The European Championships in
\nRhythmic Gymnastics is presently being hosted by Baku, in Azerbaijan. In the
\nwomen’s competition Romania is being represented by Annaliese Dragan and
\nAndreea Verdes in the individual contest as well as by Alenia Biringer, Catrina
\nBuniov, Anisia Dragan, Dalia Marin, Claudia Mitan and Antonia Stanescu. The
\nindividual finals and qualifiers are due on Friday while the last finals are
\ndue on Sunday. <\/p>\n

This weekend will see the 9th
\nleg of the Romanian football Superleague with the most important game in
\nOvidiu, southeastern Romania, pitching local side Farul against FCSB. Farul tops
\nthe table a point head of FCSB. On Sunday, CFR Cluj plays Sepsi Sfantu Gheorghe
\non the latter’s home turf, while on Monday Rapid on their own turf in Bucharest
\nplays Universitatea Craiova. <\/p>\n
