\nas Romanian cyclist Eduard Michael Grosu has extended his contract
\nwith the professional French team Nippo Delko One Provence, Italian
\npublication Gazzetta dello Sport has announced.

The prestigious
\npublication has noted the signing of the new agreement valid until
\nthe end of 2021 in an uncertain period due to the coronavirus
\npandemic. The Romanian athlete has confirmed the news on his Facebook
\npage underlining that he is the first cyclist in the world that has
\nsigned up during the pandemic. Grosu has been competing for the team
\nin Marseilles since 2019.<\/p>\n

Eduard Michael
\nGrosu was born in Z\u0103rne\u0219ti, central Romania on September 4th
\n 1992.
\nHe became Romania’s under twenty-one champion in the individual
\ntime trial competition of 2010 and reaped the same title in a
\nseniors’ competition three years later when he also won a leg of
\nthe Tour of Romania cycling competition.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n
In 2014 he signed
\nup with Vini Fantini Nippo, with which he obtained international
\nrecognition. A year later he and Serghei \u021avetcov became the first
\nRomanians to have finished a top-notch cycling competition, Giro
\nd’Italia, the Tour of Italy. Furthermore, Grosu managed a fifth
\nplace in one of the prestigious competition’s legs.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n
He also
\nparticipated in the same competition in 2016 when he came 153rd,
\nthree places below his previous performance. In 2017 he again became
\nRomania’s champion in individual trial competition a performance he
\nrepeated in 2018, when he reaped the national road cycling title.<\/p>\n

The best year of
\nEduard Michael Grosu’s career proved to be 2019 when he won the
\nBelgian race Tour du Limburg, while in China he ended on the first
\nposition in the Qinghai Lake Tour, with two legs won. He obtained
