Romanian footballer George Puscas has returned to Internazionale Milan,
\nhaving been on loan to Palermo, a second-tier Italian team which is only a
\nwhisker away from being relegated to the fourth league because of the club’s
\nfinancial problems. The Romanian news agency Agerpress quoted what George
\nPuscas told an Italian website, namely that he still wanted to play in Italy,
\nbut there were other teams the Romanian striker had in mind. 23-year old Puscas
\nscored 4 of the 10 goals of Romanian national team’s matches at the
\nrecently-held European Under-21 Championship. Puscas was the tournament’s
\nsecond best scorer, after Germany’s Luca Waldschmidt. UEFA included George
\nPuscas in the competition’s’ dream team. We recall Romania’s national team
\nsucceeded to reach as far as the semifinals of the tournament, having also
\nsecured its qualification to the 2020 edition of the Olympic Games in Japan. <\/p>\n

This coming weekend will see the new domestic football season
\nkick-starting once again. The opening match is this coming Saturday’s Supercup
\ngame, hosted by the southern Romanian town of Ploiesti and pitting defending
\nchampions CFR Cluj against the winner of Romanian Cup in football, Viitorul
\nConstanta. We recall CFR are the holders of the cup they won in 2018, when in
\nthe final CFR grabbed a 1-nil win against Universitatea Craiova. Underdogs
\nViitorul last played a Supercup fixture in 2017, when they sustained a nil-1
\ndefeat by FC Voluntari. <\/p>\n

Matches counting towards the domestic championship’s League One
\nkick-start next weekend. The first match of round one is scheduled on Friday,
\nJuly 12, when FC Voluntari takes on Sepsi Sfantu Gheorghe. Defending champions
\nCFR Cluj play a home game against Poli Iasi, while vice-champions FCSB on
\nSunday face FC Hermannstadt on home turf. <\/p>\n
