Romania won five medals in the first three days at the European Junior Swimming Championships hosted by Otopeni, Romania. The men’s 4x100m relay team won gold in the freestyle event, David Popovici won gold in the 200m freestyle event, while Vlad \u0218tefan Stancu won gold in the 1,500m freestyle event. The 4x100m mix frestyle team won silver, while Bianca Costea also won silver in the women’s 50m freestyle event. The competition will come to a close on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Romanian tennis player Simona Halep on Thursday failed to qualify to the Wimbledon finals after losing 6-3, 6-3 to Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan. The 2022-2023 football season kicks off on Saturday in Romania with the Supercup match. In a match hosted by Arad, the Romanian champions CFR Cluj will take on Sepsi Sf\u00e2ntu Gheorghe, the winners of the Romanian Cup. The team from Covasna is playing its first Supercup match. CFR, on the other side, has won the trophy four times, in 2009, 2010, 2018 and 2020, and played another four finals.
