This week we have learnt the
\ndefinitive configuration of the semifinals of the regional competition Erste
\nLiga. The latest play-off match took place in Budapest on Monday pitching Ferencv\u00e1ros
\nagainst the Polar Bears of Miskolc. Ferencvaros won the match 2-1 sealing a 4-2
\nwin on aggregate and advancing to the competition’s semifinals. There they will
\nbe playing another Hungarian side, Budapest J\u00e9gkorong Akad\u00e9mia, which secured a
\n4-0 play-off win against FEHA 19. The other two sides vying for a place in the
\nfinals come from Romania and they are ACSH Gheorgheni and Corona Bra\u015fov. ACSH
\nclinched a 4-0 aggregate win against Hungarian side Duna\u00fajv\u00e1ros, while Corona
\noutperformed Sport Club Miercurea Ciuc 4-1. <\/p>\n

Out of the three Romanian sides
\nin the best-of-seven contest, two have qualified for the semifinals. Sport Club
\nMiercurea Ciuc was stopped in its tracks by Corona, after winning the latest
\ntwo editions of the Erste League. In 2021, the side from Harghita secured a 4-2
\naggregate win against Corona Bra\u015fov and a year later obtained a 4-1 win against
\nHungarian side Ferencv\u00e1ros.<\/p>\n

Eight sides played in the
\nNational Championships. Apart from the aforementioned Gheorgheni, Miercurea
\nCiuc and Brasov, the Bucharest sides Steaua and Sportul Studentesc joined the competition
\nand so did CSM Galati, Fenestela 68 and Sapientia U23. Although the season isn’t
\nover yet, we already know three of the sides directly qualified for the
\nplay-offs, namely Corona, Steaua and Gheorgheni <\/p>\n

\nand Sapientia will be vying for the fourth place. Sport Club Miercurea Ciuc is
