Romanian gymnast Andrei
\nMuntean has qualified for the Olympic Games in Paris next year after ranking
\n30th in the individual all-round qualifiers of the World Gymnastics
\nChampionships in Antwerp. This will be his second participation in the Olympics
\nafter the edition in Rio in 2016. Unfortunately no athlete from our delegation played
\nin the finals of the present edition of the World Gymnastics Championship and Romania’s
\nteam has again failed to qualify for the Olympics, ending the competition in
\nthe 22nd place. <\/p>\n

We move to women’s
\nhandball now as in the Champions League Group B, Rapid Bucharest ended in a
\n24-all draw their away game against Hungarian side Ferencvaros on Saturday.
\nRapid ranks sixth in the group with 3 points out of 4 games. <\/p>\n

In Group A on
\nSunday, CSM Bucharest secured a 41-26 win against Swedish champions Savehof and
\nare presently ranking fourth in the group with 4 points. The Champions League
\nresumes in three weeks. <\/p>\n

In the European
\nLeague, Romanian side Dunarea Braila has qualified for the third preliminary
\nround after a 30-14 home win against Valur Reykjavik of Iceland. Dunarea also
\nwon the away game 30-29 and will be up against German side Borussia Dortmund in
\nthe third preliminary round. The first game will be an away one for the
\nRomanians on November 11th or 12th and the second game in Braila on November
\n18th or 19th. Borussia Dortmund ended the previous edition of the
\naforementioned competition in the third position. <\/p>\n

At the World Rugby
\nCup underway in France, Romania’s national rugby side has registered their
\nthird defeat in a row. Our players came a cropper against Scotland 84-nil on
\nSaturday. Romania also lost to Ireland 82-8 and 76-nil to South Africa. <\/p>\n

Let’s move on to
\nfootball now. Last weekend saw the matches of the 11th leg of Romania’s
\nSuperleague. On Friday Otelul Galati secured a 1-nil home win against Dinamo
\nBucharest, while on Saturday in Arad, western Romania, local side UTA ended in
\na goaless draw their match against FC Voluntari. On their own turf, Farul
\nConstanta, clinched a 2-1 win against Sepsi. On Sunday in Craiova,
\nsouth-western Romania local side Universitatea obtained a 5-1 win against FC
\nBotosani, while the match in Sibiu, central Romania, pitching the local side
\nHermannstadt against Rapid Bucharest ended in a draw, one-all. In Cluj, western Romania, the local team CFR outperformed FCU Craiova 1948 2-nil. FCSB tops the ranking with 25 points followed
\nby CFR with 22. <\/p>\n
