\nqualify for the singles final in the juniors category, where he was 4th-seed.
\nIn this past Friday’s semifinals, Jianu sustained a 3-6, 6-2, 7-5 defeat by the
\n14th-seed Emilio Nava of the US. Filip Jianu was unable to go past the men’s
\ndoubles semifinals either, where he paired up with Spain’s Nicolas Alvarez
\nVarona. They were defeated by the all-American pair made of Cannon Kingsley and
\nEmilio Nava, 6-3, 6-4.<\/p>\n

In men’s handball, Steaua
\nBucharest have yet again failed to grab a win in the SEHA League regional
\ncompetition. On Thursday, on home turf in Chiajna, Steaua sustained a 19-31
\ndefeat by Croatian opponents RK Nexe Na\u0161ice. The Croats are the runner-up team
\nin the League tables, while Vardar Skopje are at the top. Steaua’s next fixture
\nis scheduled for February the 5th, when the Romanians take on Belarus
