Marian Dragulescu is now the 50th
\nathlete to secure qualification to the Olympic Games of 2020. At the World
\nArtistic Gymnastics Championships in Stuttgart, Dragulescu, who will turn 39 on
\nDecember 18, managed to qualify to the vault final. Marian Dragulescu will thus
\ntake part for the fifth time in the Olympic Games. He is the holder of three
\nOlympic medals, all won in Athens in 2004, namely silver in the floor final,
\nbronze in the team event and bronze in the vault final. Maria Holbura will also
\nrepresent Romania in gymnastics after securing qualification in the women’s
\nall-round event.<\/p>\n

Romania has secured its presence in
\nthe Olympic Games in other competitions as well. In rowing a total of 18
\nathletes will compete in the men’s quad-scull event, the women’s double-scull
\nlightweight race, the women’s quad-scull race, the men’s coxless pair, the
\nwomen’s coxless pair and the men’s double-scull races. Romania’s coxed eight
\ncrew will try to qualify at the rowing championships hosted by Lucerne next
\nyear. In kayak-canoe, the Romanian men’s double-canoe crew will compete in the

Romania’s under-21 team has
\nqualified to the Tokyo Olympics after reaching the semi-finals of the European
\nChampionship hosted this year by Italy and San Marino. This is Romania’s first
\nparticipation in the Olympics in football after a 56-year break, which
\ncoincidently was also in Tokyo in 1964. <\/p>\n

Five athletes have also secured
\nqualification in the athletics competition: Florentina Iusco and Alina Rotaru will compete in the long
\njump event, Claudia Bobocea will run in the 1,500-m race, Daniela Stanciu has
\nqualified to the high jump event while Alin Firfirica will compete in discus
\nthrow.<\/p>\n

In cycling, only Vlad Dascalu has

In wrestling, Alina Vuc has secured

\nChampionship hosted last month by Kazakhstan. <\/p>\n

In shooting, Laura Coman is the
\ndefending European Champion and favorite to win the 10-m air rifle event at the
