The attention-grabbing event, early into 2023, is the World Men’s
\nHandball Championship, a competition jointly hosted by Poland and Sweden. Romania has wasted the opportunity to advance to the
\nfinal tournament, yet several First League Romanian handballers prove their
\nmettle at the World Championship. As of late, the Romanian national squad has
\nplayed several friendly matches with teams that will be taking part in the
\nWorld Championship. In Spain’s Benidorm, Romania took part in an international tournament,
\ncoming in 2nd after host country Spain and ahead of Argentina and Bahrein.
\nIn the debut game, Spain trashed Romania, 49 to 29. Then Romania defeated Argentina, 31 to 26, and Bahrein, 27 – 24. The
\nWorld Championship will be drawing to a close on Sunday, January 29, with the
\nfinal hosted by Swedish capital Stockholm.<\/span><\/p>\n

In women’s handball, European competitions have bene
\nresumed. In the Champions League, Group A, CSM Bucharest are at the top of the
\ntable with 17 points, that is with two points more than the previous season’s
\nwinner, Norway’s Vipers Christiansand. This past Sunday , CSM Bucharest grabbed
\na 35 to 25 away win against Czech opponents Banik Most, 35-26. With 9 goals
\nscored, Cristina neagu was CSM Bucharest’s top scorer. The Romania team’s next
\nscheduled fixture is the home confrontation against Danish team Odense. <\/p>\n

In the Champions League’s Group B, holders Rapid
\nBucharest have climbed to the 3rd position, having grabbed a
\nprecious 39-29 home win this past Sunday against Buducnost Podgorica of
\nMontenegro. With 16 points, Rapid Bucharest are on a par with 2nd-placed
\nteam, Hungary’s Gy\u0151r, and one point down from top-of -the-table team Metz of
\nFrance. This past Sunday, Sorina Grozav, Eliza Buceschi and their teammates
\nplay Danish team Esbjerg, away from home. At the end of the League’s group
\nstage playing straight in the quarterfinals will be 1st and 2nd
\nplaced teams in each group. 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th-placed
\nteams will be competing in the League’s playoff stage for the remaining four
\npositions in the quarterfinals. <\/p>\n

Fixtures have also been resumed, counting towards the group
\nstage as part of the Women’s European handball’s second-tier competition, EHF European League. In
\nGroup D, SCM R\u00e2mnicu V\u00e2lcea have had an auspicious debut, as this past Sunday
\nthey grabbed a 40-30 home win against Hungarian opponents V\u00e1c. Also in a Group
\nD fixture, German side Th\u00fcringer grabbed a 28-24 home win against French
\nopponents Paris 92. In the second round, CSM Ramnicu Valcea will next play
