Romania are facing Iceland on Thursday in Reykjavik in
\na play-off semifinal to qualify for the European Championship. It’s going to be
\na difficult match for Romania, as Iceland have good players, many of whom are
\nplaying in some of Europe’s strongest championships. <\/p>\n

Among the players selected for this match by the
\nRomanian manager Mirel R\u0103doi is Mario Camora, the captain of the Romanian
\nchampions CFR Cluj. Born in Portugal, Camora, who has been playing for CFR since
\n2011, got his Romanian citizenship on 2nd September and can thus play
\nfor the national side. Other players selected include R\u0103zvan Marin from Cagliari,
\nAlexandru Mitri\u0163\u0103 from New York City, and Claudiu Ke\u015feru from Ludogorets
\nRazgrad. Last-minute selections include Cristian Manea from CFR Cluj and Mihai
\nB\u0103la\u0219a from Universitatea Craiova. Manea will be replacing Vlad Chiriche\u0219, who is
\ncarrying an injury. B\u0103la\u0219a is replacing Ionu\u021b Nedelcearu who was unable to go through
\nthe UEFA protocol for Covid-19 because he is in the process of being transferred
\nfrom the Russian side Ufa to the Greek side AEK Athens. <\/p>\n

The referees for the Romania vs Iceland match are from
\nSlovenia and will be led by Damir Skomina assisted by Jure Praprotnik and Rober
\nVukan, with Rade Obrenovic as the fourth referee. 44-year old Damir Skomina
\nrefereed a match played by the Romanian national side in 2016 when Romania
\nplayed Poland in the World Cup preliminaries, a match Romania lost nil-3. <\/p>\n
