The tennis tournament in Roland Garros has ended with two winners:

\nCzech Republic in the women’s contest. The best Romanian participation in the
\naforementioned top sporting event was that of Irina Begu, who together with
\nArgentinean Nadia Podoroska made it to the semifinals of the women’s doubles.
\nTheir performance has been rewarded with 84,749 Euros and 780 WTA points. The
\nRoland Garros tournament has been Begu’s second Grand Slam semifinals after
\nAustralian Open in 2018, when she played together with her compatriot Monica
\nNiculescu.<\/p>\n

\nToader has broken a Romanian record in this event after winning the
\ninternational contest hosted by the Czech town of Brno with a shot of 21 meters
\nand 29 centimeters. The performance in Brno has brought Toader the most-coveted
\ntickets for Tokyo Olympics. The Romanian managed to equal the former national
\nrecord last week but that wasn’t enough to qualify for the upcoming Olympic
\nGames. After the competition in the Czech Republic, Toader has become Romania’s
\nseventh athlete qualified for Tokyo. <\/p>\n

In the first game of the European Football Championship in Bucharest on
\nSunday, Austria secured a 3-1 win against North Macedonia. The match was
\nwatched by 9 thousand football fans as the stadium had only 13 thousand seats
\navailable in accordance with the anti-Covid measures. Stefan Lainer, Michael
\nGregoritsch and Marko Arnautovic scored for Austria and Goran Pandev for
\nMacedonia. Also in group C, in Amsterdam, the Netherlands secured a 3-2 win
\nagainst Ukraine. In the competition’s second leg, North Macedonia takes on
\nUkraine in Bucharest on June 17th and the Dutch side will be playing

\nHandball League’s finals. Local side CSM will be playing U-BT Cluj Napoca. The
