{"id":175606,"date":"2013-10-17T15:59:00","date_gmt":"2013-10-17T12:59:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/devrri.freshlemon.ro\/news-and-current-affairs\/newsflash\/the-awards-of-the-international-radio-and-television-union-175606.html"},"modified":"2024-03-30T21:05:31","modified_gmt":"2024-03-30T19:05:31","slug":"the-awards-of-the-international-radio-and-television-union","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rri.ro\/en\/close-up\/rri-special\/the-awards-of-the-international-radio-and-television-union-id175606.html","title":{"rendered":"The Awards of the International Radio and Television Union"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A report on &#8220;Sighet &#8212; an island on the border&#8221; by our colleagues at the French Service of RRI was one of the finalists in the 25th edition of the awards of the International Radio and Television Union (URTI).<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<\/p>\n<p>Produced by Ileana Taroi and Andrei Popov, the report looks at the multicultural and multi-religious town of Sighet, on Romania\u2019s northern border, also known for one of the most terrifying communist prisons.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<\/p>\n<p>The URTI award ceremony took place in Paris, on Wednesday night,  with the Grand Prix awarded to a programme from Camerun.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<\/p>\n<p>Romania was represented at the award ceremony by the President and CEO of the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation, Ovidiu Miculescu, who awarded the bronze medal  to the President of the Algerian Radio Broadcasting Corporation, Chabane Lounakel, for the program &#8220;LAfrique des Frontieres&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<\/p>\n<p>The International Radio and Television Union, established in 1949, brings together 66 broadcasters from 51 countries.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The URTI award ceremony took place in Paris, on Wednesday, October 16.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":175607,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[46057],"tags":[],"coauthors":[],"class_list":["post-175606","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-rri-special"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.5 -
