Hello friends,<\/p>\n

Due to budget cuts, Radio Romania’s Board of Administrators decided to
\ntemporarily shut down two of Radiocom’s (the National Society for Radio
\nCommunications) 5 shortwave transmitters broadcasting RRI programmes. Starting
\nAugust 1, our programmes will be transmitted via the \u021aig\u0103ne\u0219ti and S\u0103ftica transmitters (near
\nBucharest) and Galbeni (in the east). To the extent Radio Romania’s budget will be supplemented, we will revert to broadcasting on 5
\ntransmitters.<\/p>\n


\n <\/p>\n

The shutdown
\nwill affect RRI broadcasts in Romanian, English, French, German, Spanish,
\nRussian, Arabic, Chinese and Hebrew. These broadcasts will be aired on a single
\nfrequency instead of two as of August 1. We will be announcing on-air, online
\nand on social media the frequencies you can tune in to as well as any specific
\nmodifications brought to the frequencies operated by Radiocom, based on monitoring
\nof reception quality and the feedback you send.<\/p>\n


\n <\/p>\n

Due to the
\naforementioned cuts, Radio Romania also decided to reduce nighttime power usage
\nfor medium-wave transmitters broadcasting domestic broadcasts of Radio Rom\u00e2nia Actualit\u0103\u021bi (Radio Romania News and Current
\nAffairs) and some of the other regional stations.<\/p>\n
