\nthat the Republic of Moldova can only fulfil its destiny within the European
\nUnion. We will stand by the citizens of the Republic of Moldova regardless of
\nthe effort entailed and the time it takes, said Romania’s president Klaus
\nIohannis in Suceava, in the north-east, where his counterpart Nicolae Timofti
\nreceived the doctor honoris causa title from the city’s Stephen the

\nto support firmly the European path of the Republic of Moldova and to assist it

The people have
\ngiven a new mandate for the European transformation of the Republic of Moldova.
\nWe hope Chisinau will have as soon as possible a new solid and stable coalition
\nable to consolidate the European course of the Republic of Moldova and continue
\nreform processes at an accelerated pace. In the current internal and regional
\ncontext, delays and hesitations are not beneficial. In our opinion, these are
\nnot just the expectations of Romania and the other European partners, but,
\nfirst of all, the expectations of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova.<\/p>\n

Moldova’s president
\nNicolae Timofti said the political dialogue with Romania continues to be
\nconsistent and constructive and emphasised that the talks with his Romanian
\ncounterpart focused on both maters of regional security and the many joint
\nprojects at different stages of implementation:<\/p>\n

Bilateral
\ncooperation has a positive record so far, from the European integration process
\nto projects in the energy, education and social areas. These projects will help
\nstrengthen the democratic processes in the Republic of Moldova: the
\nconsolidation of the rule of law and an independent justice system, the fight
\nagainst corruption, the modernisation of state institutions and the creation of
\na fair and competitive economic environment.<\/p>\n

There are plans to
\nexpand bilateral cooperation between Romania and the Republic of Moldova, in
\nparticular by developing infrastructure projects to ensure the full connection
