Brexit talks started in Brussels in an atmosphere of
\noptimism and transparency, one year since the referendum of June 23, 2016, when
\nBritons decided to leave the European Union. Chief negotiators Michel Barnier
\nand David Davis have set up three working groups, established a meeting
\ntimetable, once a month, and identified the main priorities during the

\nkey issues. We have to commit together to guaranteeing the citizens on either

\nIreland. Eliminating uncertainties relative to these issues, we will lay the
\nbasis for the needed confidence to later build a new partnership between the EU

Michel Barnier gave assurances that the
\n27 states are united and want to have a fair agreement with the Britons and not
\nagainst them. In turn, the UK’s Brexit Secretary, David Davis, has said the

\nthe referendum, I have been clear that my first priority is to provide
\ncertainty to European Union citizens living in the United Kingdom, and to UK

David Davis has announced that Prime
\nMinister Theresa May will present the European leaders with negotiation offers
\non the citizens’ rights at the European summit to be held in Brussels later
\nthis week. Afterwards the main
\nguidelines of this proposal will be published in a document by the London government.
\nConcurrently with Brussels’ officially launching Brexit talks, the Romanian
\nGovernment’s inter-ministerial working group on Brexit discussed in Bucharest
\nabout the negotiation files between the 27 EU member states and Great Britain. <\/p>\n

Romania’s minister delegate for European
\nAffairs, Ana Birchall, has said Romania will actively participate in
\nconsolidating a stance to reflect the interests of the 27 EU member states
\nduring the negotiations. She said the European Commission’s mandate during the
\nnegotiations also includes Romania’s objectives, which are mainly aimed at
\nsafeguarding the rights of the Romanians domiciled in the United Kingdom. The
\nworking group has also talked about preparing Romania’s candidacy to host the
\nEuropean Medicines Agency, after it is relocated from London. <\/p>\n
