According to a survey conducted by Mednet Marketing
\nResearch Centre, 79% of Romanians intend to celebrate the coming of the new
\nyear in their own country, and only 3.6% will go abroad. Out of those who
\ndecided to stay, three quarters will spend New Year’s Eve together with friends
\nand family, in their own or friends’ homes. 11% have chosen resorts, and 9%
\nwill party in a club or a restaurant. Also, 3.6% of Romanians will welcome the
\nnew year outdoors, in public squares. <\/p>\n

An analysis made by an online hospitality platform shows
\nthat the city of Brasov, in central Romania, is the favourite destination for
\nthose who choose to celebrate New Year in their country. Also, mountain resorts
\nin the Prahova Valley, such as Predeal, Sinaia and Busteni, are top of the list
\nof preferred destinations. It has been snowing in the past days up in the
\nmountains, so the slopes are perfect for skiing. <\/p>\n

Thousands of club, bar and restaurant employees are
\nworking hard these days to prepare the big New Year’s Eve party, as they are
\nexpecting many guests, something also seen at Christmas. According to a survey
\nconducted by the Romanian Tourism Employer’s Associations Federation, more than
\n78,000 Romanian tourists spent 15 million Euros during the Christmas holidays.
\nOn the other hand, the Romanians who have decided to welcome the coming of the
\nnew year abroad, have opted for Vienna, Bansko or Prague. Other favourite
\ndestinations are Paris, Rome and Budapest. <\/p>\n

Bucharest and other cities across the country will host
\nmega-parties staged by municipalities. Organisers are busy mounting the stages
\nwhere artists will perform on the big night. Traffic restrictions are already
\nin place in the capital in preparation for the New Year’s Eve Party 2018, which
\nwill take place in the George Enescu square. Organisers have promised six hours
\nof live music, performed by dozens of top artists, a dynamic and spectacular
\nshow, which will also include dance performances, light effects and the glamour
\ntypical of a Broadway show. The stage design of the show was inspired by a
\njukebox, which plays one hit after another. <\/p>\n

And since many people will party in the street, the main
\nconcern for authorities is security, which is why a large number of police
\nofficers and gendarmes and fire-fighters will be on duty throughout the events. <\/p>\n
