{"id":857133,"date":"2025-02-02T16:02:47","date_gmt":"2025-02-02T14:02:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rri.ro\/?p=857133"},"modified":"2025-01-31T19:11:48","modified_gmt":"2025-01-31T17:11:48","slug":"music-as-an-act-of-resistance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rri.ro\/en\/our-shows\/music-time\/music-as-an-act-of-resistance-id857133.html","title":{"rendered":"Music as an Act of Resistance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From African-American spirituals to music written in Nazi concentration camps, from the hippie music of the 60s to punk rock and hip hop, and from literally countless examples of music created by marginalised communities to openly political protest songs, music has, throughout time, played an exceptional role in giving voice to the voiceless.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The journalist Paul Breazu, who has done exceptional work in researching the broader\u2014cultural, social and even political\u2014impact and significance of music, this weekend took part in the French festival Longueur d\u2019Ondes, one of the world\u2019s leading radio, listening and sound production festivals.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>His and other Romanian contributors\u2019 participation in the festival was possible thanks to the support of the French Institute in Romania, the Goethe-Institut and NARDIV (United in Narrative Diversity), a project financed by the EU.
