\nThe government in Bucharest has
\nendorsed a law guaranteeing loans for the big companies after the IMM
\nInvest model. The country’s Prime Minister Ludovic Orban on
\nWednesday said that this assistance scheme would become operational
\nafter getting the green light from the European Commission, most
\nlikely in two weeks’ time. The Prime Minister has recalled the
\nprinciples of this programme.<\/p>\n

Ludovic Orban:
\nThis
\nis a scheme through which we guarantee credits up to 90% subsidizing
\ninterests up to 50%. The initial ceiling of this state assistance
\nprogramme is of 1.6 billion euros, which of course we are ready to
\nincrease in case there are more applications.<\/p>\n
We are waiting for the European
\nCommission’s approval because any assistance scheme needs their
\napproval. We have discussed the issue in principle and we are
\noptimistic about the results. The scheme is going to become fully
\noperational shortly after we get the approval we need.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Last week, Finance Minister Florin
\nCitu announced the ceiling of this assistance programme, which can
\nbenefit the big companies with over 250 employees, including their
\nbranches or partners, could be raised up to 5.8 billion euros. <\/p>\n

\n According to
\nFlorin C\u00ee\u021bu, this programme together with the one destined for
\nsmall and medium-sized businesses allow all the Romanian companies to
\nget access to such financing credits.

As for the IMM
\nInvest programme, which is addressing companies with over 4.1 million
\neuros in turnover, the government announced that this programme was
\nstreamlined and declared ready to supplement the allotted budget so
\nthat the number of the enterprises attracting these funds may triple
\nin a couple of weeks.<\/p>\n

The Finance Minister has added the
\nprogramme can offer assistance to 40 thousand companies at the most
\nand if need be the Executive can earmark more money at the next
\nbudget adjustment.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, the country’s
\npresident Klaus Iohannis promulgated a law on approving an emergency
\nordinance over the programme of assisting the small and medium-sized
\nenterprises, which this year provides for a total ceiling of 6.2
\nbillion euros in state guarantees, which can benefit the companies
\ninterested in getting these loans.<\/p>\n
