Romanians will have to wait to get back to the life
\nwithout restrictions, the lifestyle they enjoyed before the pandemic outbreak.
\nThe announcement was made on Wednesday by the country’s president Klaus

Klaus Iohannis: \u02baUnder the
\npresent circumstances when the number of infections isn’t going down but on the
\ncontrary is on the rise, it is only normal that the state of alert be extended for
\nanother 30 days. However, only the restrictions now in force will be kept. No further restrictions are to be added but as
\nI said, under the present circumstances we cannot speak about relaxation
\neither. <\/p>\n

Prior to the president’s announcement, the government
\npassed a resolution in this respect. Let’s have a look at some of the restrictions
\nstill in place: wearing masks in indoor public spaces, like supermarkets,
\npublic transportation and workplaces is still mandatory. And so is hand hygiene
\nand physical distancing. <\/p>\n

Outdoor events like rallies and demonstrations are
\nbanned, while groups larger than 6 cannot travel around the cities unless they
\nare a family. <\/p>\n

Private indoor events cannot exceed 20 people while
\noutdoor events with more than 50 participants are not permitted. Restaurants
\nremain closed but outdoor beer gardens are open. <\/p>\n

Malls and supermarkets are open, whereas cinemas and playgrounds
\nremain closed. Indoor religious services are permitted but participants are to
\nwear masks and observe physical distancing. Last but not least, some flights
\nare still cancelled and some border checkpoints remain closed. Against this
\nrestrictive background, Romania’s president Klaus Iohannis has given assurances
\nthat measures aimed at the country’s economic recovery and growth are likely to
\ncontinue. <\/p>\n

\ngovernment is working on and going to present fresh laws and regulations aimed
\nat supporting the country’s economic recovery programme, which has been
\npresented. Economic recovery is extremely important after this difficult period
\nwe have been through.<\/p>\n

Economic recovery is also expected to be high on the
\nagenda of the European Council session on Friday and Saturday and according to president
\nIohannis, it is very important for Romania to obtain a significant amount of
\nmoney to jump-start its economy. <\/p>\n
