A new list of countries
\nwith a high epidemiological risk will be applying from 15th February
\nto all arrivals in Romania, after the list was updated last week by the
\nNational Committee for Emergency Situations with a view to preventing the
\nfurther spread of the coronavirus pandemic. The list of countries in the
\nso-called amber zone includes Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the UK, Serbia,
\nSpain, Hungary and the Republic of Moldova, with arrivals from these countries
\nbeing asked to isolate when entering Romania. Countries like South Africa, Brazil,
\nthe Czech Republic, Switzerland, the US, Lebanon, Portugal, the Netherlands, Qatar
\nand Sweden are also on the list. The quarantine rules for those arriving from
\nthese countries were also established. <\/p>\n

On entering the country,
\ntravellers arriving from countries with a high epidemiological risk and who
\nproduce a negative RT-PCR Covid test taken within the last 72 hours will be
\nasked to isolate for ten days at home or other stated address. Children aged 3 and
\nunder arriving in Romania with these persons will be in isolation for a similar
\namount of time, but are exempt from the presentation of a negative test result.
\nTravellers arriving from the countries in the amber zone who do not produce a
\nnegative test will be asked to isolate at home or other stated address for a
\nperiod of 14 days, with the exception of arrivals from the UK, who are obliged
\nto present a negative test taken in the last 72 hours and isolate for 14 days. <\/p>\n

Exempt from quarantine are
\nthe cross-border workers entering Romania from Hungary, Bulgaria, Serbia, Ukraine
\nand the Republic of Moldova, as well as the Romanian citizens working for companies
\nbased in these countries. Also exempt are Romanian athletes working in other
\ncountries and who are returning to Romania to take part in the national team and
\nrepresent Romania in international sports competitions, as well as film crews
\nworking in Romania based on a contract or other documents justifying the need
\nof their presence in this country. <\/p>\n

The National Committee for
\nEmergency Situations also decided that businesses in the field of international
\ntransport, passenger air and road transport conducting services to Romania from
\nareas with a high epidemiological risk, including the UK, are obliged to
\nprevent the boarding of persons who do not produce a negative Covid test result
\nfrom the last 72 hours or proof of vaccination, including the second dose, received
\nat least ten days prior to departure. Also allowed on board are persons who can
\ndemonstrate they were infected with Covid-19 within the last 90 days of
