Tens of thousands of people are every day taken the anti-COVID-19 shot.
\nThe authorities claim immunization helps combat this virus, which has so far
\nkilled over 3 million people worldwide. Why do we need the vaccine? There are many
\nvoices who support vaccination, but there are equally many people who refuse
\ntaking the vaccine. The answer is rather simple: although prevention measures,
\nsuch as physical distancing, personal hygiene or the wearing of face masks, do
\noffer some protection, they are not enough. Vaccination remains the safest and
\nquickest method to protect ourselves, and the immunization of the population
\nshould help eradicate this virus. Authorities in Bucharest want 35% of Romania’s
\nactive population to get immunized by June 1, considering 2.7 million people
\nhave already taken one dose of the anti-COVID vaccine. <\/p>\n

Prime Minister Florin C\u00ee\u021bu said wherever
\nthe vaccination rate is high there should be less restrictions. Immunization
\nalso benefits the hospitality industry. Once all the personel working in
\nrestaurants, coffee shops or hotels gets immunized at once, we can then start
\ntalking about this sector as well, the Prime Minister also said. Florin C\u00ee\u021bu
\nsuggested that workers who get immunized should even be paid bonuses. We want to
\nreturn to a normal state of affairs, and the only way to do that is vaccination,
\nPrime Minister Florin C\u00ee\u021bu said. The number of new vaccination centers is also
\nincreasing across the country. The head of the national center for the
\ncoordination of vaccination activities, military doctor Valeriu Gheorghi\u0163\u0103, in turn said mobile
\nvaccination units have already started immunizing people in seven counties in
\nRomania. Adequate vaccination units are still being set up in other counties,
\nwhere mobile teams will be dispatched together with all the necessary material,
\nValeriu Gheorghi\u0163\u0103 went on to say. <\/p>\n

The Romanian official believes Romania has
\none of the most accessible vaccination systems in Europe. Referring to the
\npercentage of the population who opt for vaccination, Valeriu Gheorghi\u0163\u0103 said
\nthat studies and current data show that 50% of Romanians are undecided, although
\nthey may change their mind if they had more information about vaccination. As
\nregards vaccination at corporate level, Valeriu Gheorghi\u0163\u0103 said this phase of the
\nvaccination is due to start next week. Valeriu Gheorghi\u0163\u0103 explained that, over
\nthe next period, a number of modifications will be implemented regarding appointments
\nfor vaccination, specially in rural areas, considering some people have a
\ndifficult time accessing the vaccination platform. People can thus make
\nappointments over the phone, by contacting the special call-center of
