Romania won its first match in the water polo Group A at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore, as they beat South Africa 24 – 5 on Monday. On Saturday, in the first game, Romania was defeated by the defending world vice-champions, Italy, 17 – 5. A match with Serbia follows on Wednesday. Romania\u2019s points were brought by Alexandru Bucur, who scored a try, and Antonio Mitrea, who converted a penalty kick.
