CAR SCRAPPING In Romania, the 2025 car scrapping programme (\u201cRabla\u201d) for individuals began today, with several changes in terms of registration and funding conditions. The total amount earmarked this year is about EUR 40 million, 3 times less than the initial one announced for the summer. Little over EUR 23 mln of these funds is intended for the purchase of plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles. The voucher worth was also changed compared to the initial version: about EUR 3,700 for the purchase of an EV; about EUR 3,000 for a plug-in hybrid or electric motorcycle; about EUR 2,400 for a hybrid vehicle and some EUR 2,000 for the purchase of a traditional car. A novelty in this year’s programme is that registrations are made only in person, rather than through intermediaries, as before. The session will remain open until November 25 or until the budget is used up.<\/p>\n

CITIES SUMMIT \u201cIt is commendable that major European cities are creating a network in which they try to have their voices heard at European level. I will be among those who support a greater role of cities associations in the decision-making process at the European Council,\u201d president Nicu\u015for Dan said at the Timi\u015foara Cities Summit, a meeting in which mayors, ambassadors and leaders from 15 EU member states and candidate countries discuss the future of the European Union and the role of cities in its enlargement process. In the first part of the summit, mayors take part in roundtables on topics such as the European Union enlargement, continental security, the European Green Deal and the direct financing of cities. The summit will end with the signing of a joint declaration of mayors from EU and candidate countries, which will emphasise the essential role of cities in the enlargement process. A public conference on ‘Europe at a Crossroads – Security, Prosperity, and Our Common Future’ is scheduled afterwards.<\/p>\n

EU The president of Romania Nicu\u015for Dan takes part on Wednesday and Thursday in Copenhagen, Denmark, in an informal meeting of the European Council and the 7th<\/sup> meeting of the European Political Community, which has 47 members.
