It was a spectacular match, in which the team coached by Ovidiu Mih\u0103il\u0103 was repeatedly on par with the opposing team, the bronze medalists at last year’s European Championship. Romania’s best player was the goalkeeper Bianca Curmen\u021b, with 13 saves. Sorina Grozav was Romania\u2019s top scorer, with 7 goals. Romania\u2019s national rugby team has found out its group opponents at the World Cup that will take place in Australia in two years\u2019 time. The Oaks will face defending world champions South Africa, Italy and Georgia. Romania is at its 10th World Cup participation, and has played 32 matches so far, with 6 wins and 26 defeats.<\/p>\n

Corona Bra\u0219ov for the first time won Romania\u2019s Super Cup in men’s volleyball. The Brasov-based club outperformed Dinamo Bucharest 3-0 on Wednesday, in the capital city. Corona, the holder of Romania\u2019s Cup, won the trophy in a game that lasted for one hour and 37 minutes. Champions Dinamo are left with two Super Cups on their record, in 2021 and 2022.<\/p>\n

And the second leg of the group stage of Romania\u2019s football Cup is played this week. On Tuesday, in Group A, FC Arge\u0219 beat Rapid Bucharest 2-1 in Mioveni, while in Group C, O\u021belul defeated Csikszereda 2-1 away from home. On Wednesday, FC Boto\u0219ani lost 1-3 at home to the Sibiu team Hermannstadt, in Group D, and UTA Arad smashed the Romanian champions FCSB, 3-0, in Group B.
