UKRAINE – The reconstruction of Ukraine is a continental project whose success will influence the economic and security landscape of Europe, Romanian Finance Minister Alexandru Nazare said on Thursday at the conference \u201cRebuilding Ukraine: Security, Opportunities, Investment\u201d.\u00a0 In his opinion, Romania has become one of the essential logistics corridors for exports to Ukraine, adjusted tax and customs procedures to support regional stability, and worked closely with private actors involved in cross-border initiatives. In a video message broadcast during the conference, Alexandru Nazare said that Romania supports a framework that expands access to guarantees and strengthens cooperation with international financial institutions, creating the necessary confidence for medium and long-term projects in sectors essential for Ukraine’s recovery, such as infrastructure, energy, logistics and technology. \u201cUkraine and its reconstruction cannot be separated from the European trajectory. Alignment with European Union standards in governance, procurement, digitalization and financial regulations will significantly strengthen investor confidence. Romania will continue to support Ukraine,” the Minister of Finance also said.<\/p>\n

JUDICIARY \u2013 \u201cAccusations such as \u2018the defendants are being whitewashed<\/em>‘ are not true,\u201d said the head of the Bucharest Court of Appeal, Liana Arsenie, on Thursday, during the institution\u2019s first extraordinary press conference, held following findings in a journalistic investigation by Recorder, dubbed \u201cJustice Captured.\u201d The Recorder investigation features several prosecutors and judges, some with protected identities, who reveal how the leadership of the Bucharest Court of Appeal allegedly changed judges from panels so as to obtain favorable decisions for individuals accused of corruption. The accusations of the two judges in the Recorder investigation have no connection to reality, says Liana Arsenie. In her opinion, the investigation is \u201ca media lynching, a demonization through manipulation, lies told by people who react due to personal failure.\u201d She accuses \u201ca concerted attack on the judiciary\u201d and says she has \u201cevidence that combats the accusations.\u201d A judge from the Bucharest Court of Appeal, however, spoked at the press conference and said that everything that one of her colleagues revealed in the Recorder investigation was true. Judge Raluca Moro\u015fanu also said that they are being terrorized and do not receive any help from the court leadership, in their work. The journalistic investigation is seen by the Judges’ Section of the Supreme Court of Justice as part of a plan meant to “destabilize the judiciary by destroying trust in the justice system and trust in the people in leadership positions.” The documentary brought hundreds of protesters in front of the headquarters of the Superior Council of Magistracy in Bucharest on Wednesday evening. They demanded the resignation of the Minister of Interior, C\u0103t\u0103lin Predoiu, a former Minister of Justice, of the head of the Supreme Court, Lia Savonea, and of the leadership of the Supreme Court. According to a press release from the Government, this is an independent European organization that acts as a collaboration platform for the Ministries of Education in the member states. It supports the development of inclusive education systems, in order to ensure the right of every student to benefit from equitable and high-quality educational opportunities. \u201cAcquiring membership by Romania and participating in the Agency’s activities represents an essential opportunity for cooperation to achieve the objectives assumed at national level regarding the promotion and provision of inclusive education for all students’, the Government in Bucharest said.
