The Republic of Moldova, an ex-soviet country with a Romanian-speaking majority has designated Romania as mentor in a project concerning the protection of refugees, says a communiqu\u00e9 issued by the Bucharest-based General Inspectorate for Immigration. The EU-funded project, co-funded and implemented by the UN High Commissariat for Refugees is spanning two years and it focuses on improving asylum and protection-granting procedures in six countries, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belaruss, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
