The EC president-elect Jean-Claude Juncker might announce on Wednesday the exact posts for the members of his new team. His spokesperson, quoted by the Radio Romania correspondent in Brussels, said Juncker was still working on the assignment of portfolios, to make sure that the final make-up meets both his own requirements, and those of the EU member states. After Juncker\u2019s announcement, the European Parliament will hear each candidate and will vote on the new EC membership. The heads of state and government will then give an opinion, and the new European cabinet will take office on November the 1st. Romania has nominated the Socialist MEP Corina Cre\u0163u for a European Commissioner seat. According to media reports, although the Romanian government hopes she will be given the Regional Development portfolio, she will most likely get the Humanitarian Aid job.<\/p>\n

Romania hailed on Tuesday the formation of a new Iraqi government headed by Haidar Al-Abadi. The Romanian foreign ministry expressed hopes that the new cabinet would meet the legitimate aspirations of all members of the Iraqi society, and condemned the violence of the Islamic State. Romania will continue to give assistance to the neighbouring Republic of Moldova in transposing EU legislation, the Romanian Foreign Ministry\u2019s undersecretary R\u0103zvan-Hora\u0163iu Radu announced on Tuesday. In talks with Moldovan officials, he stressed the priority of the EU judicial principles over the national laws of member states. In June, Chisinau signed free trade and association agreements with Brussels, and the pro-Western government hopes the Republic of Moldova will join the Union in 2020.<\/p>\n

The Romanian National Radio Orchestra is in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur, to take part in the World Summit on Media for Children<\/em><\/strong>. According to the organisers, the Bucharest orchestra\u2019s concerts on Tuesday and Wednesday are the highlights of this seventh edition of the event, organised for the first time in Asia. The two concerts, conducted by Tiberiu Soare, are recorded by the Malaysian public broadcaster and will be aired by all members of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union, thus reaching billions of viewers and listeners.<\/p>\n
At least 5 Ukrainian troops were reportedly killed and 33 wounded in the first days of the truce between governmental forces and the pro-Russian secessionists in the east of the country. The Ukrainian National Security and Defence Council, quoted by news agencies, says after the ceasefire agreement signed on Friday in Minsk, Belarus, the Russian troops and pro-Russian rebels continued the shooting.
