For the gold and silver medals won in Mexico, Radio Romania has designated Laura Coman as the Athlete of the Week.
Laura Coman was born in 1993 in Bucharest. She took up shooting in 2010 and has been taking part in official competitions since 2012. She is a member of Dinamo Bucharest Sports Club and is coached by Olimpiu Marin.
In February, at the European Shooting Championships in Gyor, Hungary, she won the European team title jointly with Roxana Tudose and Eliza Molnar.
Prior to the World Cup in Guadalajara, Coman was ranking 3rd in the world in air rifle 10-m, after the American Virginia Thrasher and Serbia’s Andrea Arsovic. However, the performance in Mexico sends the Romanian athlete to the world’s top position in this event.
