Romanian Horia Tecau won the ATP doubles finals in Casablanca.
The pair made up of Romanian Horia Tecau and Jean-Julien Rojer of the Netherlands on Saturday won the men’s doubles final in the ATP tournament in Casablanca, Morocco, totalling 426,605 dollars in prize money. The two outperformed Tomasz Bednarek of Poland and Lukas Dlouhy of the Czech Republic, 6-2, 6-2.

Tecau and Rojer had solid wins all throughout the tournament in Casablanca. In the first preliminary round they edged out Albert Motanes of Spain and Filippo Volandri of Italy, 6-1, 6-4. In the quarterfinals they brushed aside Carlos Berlocq and Leonardo Mayer of Argentina, 6-1, 6-1. In the semi-finals they knocked out the pair made up of Daniele Bracciali of Italy and Federico Delbonis of Argentina, 6-3, 6-4.
For Horica Tecau the final match in the Casablanca tournament marked the 32nd final of his career. The Romanian player has so far won 18 tournaments: two alongside Rojer this year, in Zagreb and Casablanca, three alongside Max Mirnyi of Berlarus in 2013, in Bucharest, s’-Hertogenbosch and Beijing, and 10 alongside Robert Lindstedt of Sweden between 2010 and 2012.
Let us further note that Tecau lost 14 finals, of which most pairing up with Lindstedt, alongside whom he won the doubles finals at Wimbledon twice.
Right now Tecau ranks 21st in the world doubles standings. The all-time best ranking for Tecau was in August 2012, when he ranked 5th.
