As of Wednesday Romania has a new Government
GOVERNMENT - The coalition Government led by Liberal Florin Cîţu was sworn in on Wednesday in an official ceremony held at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace in Bucharest. Earlier on Wednesday Parliament had voted the new Cabinet led by Liberal Florin Cîţu with 260 votes in favor and 186 against. Previously the Parliament's specialized committees interviewed and approved of all the candidates vying the 18 ministries. The coalition Government is made up of the National Liberal Party, the Save Romania Union - PLUS Alliance and the Democratic Union of Ethnic Hungarians in Romania. Its top priority is the modernization of the country and implementing reforms together with the head of state. Florin Cîţu said the governing program also includes supporting investments and structural reforms that would consolidate sustainable economic growth. The Liberal Prime Minister underlined his Cabinet will work with clearly stipulated deadlines. We recall the Social-Democratic Party won the December 6 parliamentary election, but couldn't make up a majority in Parliament. The Alliance for the Union of Romanians, which grabbed the fourth-largest number of votes, also voted against the coalition government.
