NATO – NATO has again called on Russia to observe the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty and destroy by August 2 the new missiles. The NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said, fresh from the meeting of the NATO – Russia Council, that the treaty could be saved if Russia observed it. Otherwise, there will be serious consequences in relation to arms control. Washington has set August 2 as the deadline for Moscow to comply with the request, otherwise the treaty will be deemed as expired. The defense ministers of the NATO member countries decided last week that the Alliance will respond to Russia’s actions with coordinated, balanced and defensive measures.
