Romania’s football champion CFR Cluj ended the match against Ukraine’s Vorskla Poltava in a blank draw. It was the Romanians’ debut game as part of their training stage in Antalya. Vorskla are 5th-placed in the Ukrainian championship and will also play a friendly match against Universitatea Craiova on January 19th. CFR Cluj will next take on Swiss side FC Zurich on Friday, January 18, also as part of their training stage in Antalya.
Also in Turkey, Dinamo Bucharest sustained a nil-3 defeat by Swiss opponents FC Sion. The Swiss side is 7th-placed in the domestic championship, and its scorers were the Algerian Ayoub Abdellaoui on 25 minutes, the French Yassin Fortuné, in minute 30 and the Brazilian Adryan Tavares, in minute 74. In their debut friendly match in Antalya, Dinamo sustained a nil-2 defeat by Croatian side Hajduk Split. Dinamo will next play against Latvia’s FK Liepaja on Friday, January 20th.
Romania’s vice-champion team, FCSB, has signed up midfielder Adrian Stoian who came from Italian second league team FC Crotone. 27-year old Stoian started training on Wednesday morning in Spain under the supervision of head coach Mihai Teja. Adrian Stoian was born on February 11, 1991, in Craiova. He first took up football with the Gheorghe Popescu football school. In 2008 Stoian was transferred to AS Roma where he played 28 matches for the Primavera team and one Serie A fixture. Then, between 2010 and 2012, Adrian Stoian was on loan with Pescara and AS Bari. After a season with Verona, he was on loan with Genoa, Bari and Crotone, respectively. With Crotone, Stoian signed a permanent contract in the summer of 2015. His record includes 95 Serie A caps and two games for the national team of Romania.
