gymnastics coaches Octavian Bellu and Mariana Bitang, who trained Romania's
gymnastics team to winning 5 world titles and 2 Olympic gold medals, have been
declared "the World's Most Successful Coaches" (Duo) by the World Record
Academy. According to the Academy, the two coaches helped Romania's gymnastics
team win a total of 305 medals at the European and World Championships and
Olympic Games. The World Record Academy is the largest organization certifying
world records, also holding the biggest database of world records. In other
news from gymnastics, Larisa Iordache on Wednesday announced in a Facebook post
that she tested positive for COVID-19 and has isolated herself for two weeks.
Several-time European champion and world vice-champion, Iordache was due to
take part in the National Championships hosted by Ploieşti over November 17-19.
The Romanian gymnast incurred a torn left Achilles tendon at the 2017 World
Gymnastics Championships in Montreal. She has since undergone three surgeries.

has advanced to the round of 16 in the CEV women's Volleyball Challenge Cup
after the Swiss team Cheseaux withdrew from the competition due to the COVID-19
pandemic. In the round of 16 the team from Blaj will play the winner of the
match pitting Sanaya Libby's La Laguna of Spain against Pirane Brusno of Slovakia.
The first leg is scheduled for December 8-10 away from home, while the return
leg will be played in Blaj over December 22-24.
