In the playoffs, on Saturday, CSU Craiova is taking on Astra Giurgiu in a match hosted by Pitesti. The two teams are bottom of the playoff tables, and Astra is still to grab its first win in the playoffs.
On Sunday, Dinamo Bucharest is playing Viitorul Constanta at home. In the previous match, played in Ovidiu, eastern Romania, the two teams drew nil-all.Finally, on Monday, FCSB, formerly known as Steaua Bucharest, is going up against CFR from Cluj. FCSB needs a win to consolidate its top position in the tables. Ranking last in the league tables is ASA Targu Mures, with a deficit of five points compared to the team ahead. Fighting to avoid relegation this season are Concordia, Pandurii and Poli Timisoara. The last two teams will be relegated to the second division. Of these, Chiajna has 15 points, and has so far reported no win in the play-out phase. Pandurii is one spot higher with 16 points, while Poli Timisoara has 17 points. Timisoara has so far three wins in five matches played in the second half of the 2016-2017 football season.
