Yoshihiro Toyama, Japan
“Dear RRI, greetings from the ending of the fall season in Hammatsu, Japan. How is the weather in Bucharest these days? I am happy with your station’s new winter frequency schedule, but in fact the reception condition was never good during this time. I hope to change frequency soon, such as 11810 or 9530 kHz. Especially I felt that noise and fading, which are serious issues for me. Look forward to your answers. God bless and take care of yourself”.

“I am very pleased to send you this report. I listened to an English program starting at 6:30 UTC time. At first the signal was weak and it was not easy to catch the contents. The signal got stronger gradually and it was possible to understand the contents of the program, when reporting about the national theatre festival. As Radio Romania International’s various programs are heard in Japan in good conditions, I always enjoy listening to your programs every weekend. I hope you will keep broadcasting on shortwave in the future”.

“Dear RRI, I tuned in due to being late for missing my car, but it was only 15 minutes. I liked the music that you played, it was very resty to the heart, but not enough. I missed many shows due to not knowing the new schedule, but I am happy now. I need to know about the club membership and what to do, I wonder if I have to rejoin again, as I have been in your club over 40 decades. My favourites on air for me are the mail, the travel feature, your food and drinks show, just to mention a few of them. I heard your audio, and was very sorry to hear what was being said about the developments in Romania, but it will be better I hope. I myself have been very ill this middle of the year and had to be taken to hospital and stay there for 3 days. I am having problems with my memories getting mixed, not knowing what, who of where, but I still pray to God for his help”.

“I am participating in the contest and listen to RRI on shortwave to increase my knowledge of Romania. We are alike, since we are Latin, and share almost the same culture. We are also a live and let live culture, yet we achieve the impossible. I heard you and wrote to you during the 1970s. Our friendship has since grown after the revolution of 1989. It has grown since I listen to Romanian football, especially Steaua Bucharest”.
