La carretera tiene su punto de mayor altura en el pico de Urdele, donde el asfalto se eleva hasta los 2.145 metros sobre el nivel del mar.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"100%\" height=\"300\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"no\" allow=\"autoplay\" src=\"https:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?url=https%3A\/\/api.soundcloud.com\/tracks\/1872184758&#038;color=%23ff5500&#038;auto_play=false&#038;hide_related=false&#038;show_comments=true&#038;show_user=true&#038;show_reposts=false&#038;show_teaser=true&#038;visual=true\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<div style=\"font-size: 10px; color: #cccccc;line-break: anywhere;word-break: normal;overflow: hidden;white-space: nowrap;text-overflow: ellipsis; font-family: Interstate,Lucida Grande,Lucida Sans Unicode,Lucida Sans,Garuda,Verdana,Tahoma,sans-serif;font-weight: 100;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/soundcloud.com\/radioromaniainternational\" title=\"RadioRomaniaInternational\" target=\"_blank\" style=\"color: #cccccc; text-decoration: none;\" rel=\"noopener\">RadioRomaniaInternational<\/a> \u00b7 <a href=\"https:\/\/soundcloud.com\/radioromaniainternational\/din-ro-in-lume-16072024\" title=\"Din RO In LUME 16.07.2024\" target=\"_blank\" style=\"color: #cccccc; text-decoration: none;\" rel=\"noopener\">Din RO In LUME 16.07.2024<\/a><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\nAunque el origen de la carretera Transalpina est\u00e1 todav\u00eda hoy bajo debate, hay teor\u00edas que afirman que esta v\u00eda fue construida por las legiones romanas durante las guerras de Dacia, con el fin de poder acceder a Sarmizegetusa, la capital de los dacios y la principal ciudad del imperio romano en Ruman\u00eda, que todav\u00eda hoy recoge numerosas ruinas y un importante legado arqueol\u00f3gico.<br \/>\nTambi\u00e9n existe una leyenda que dice que a finales del siglo XVIII y principios del siglo XIX, familias locales participaron en la construcci\u00f3n de una parte de la v\u00eda, en funci\u00f3n de sus posibilidades f\u00edsicas y financieras. Seg\u00fan otras fuentes, y la carretera adoquinada fue construida por las tropas alemanas durante la Primera Guerra Mundial, por motivos militares, aunque apenas sin uso en aquella \u00e9poca.<br \/>\nFinalmente, la Transalpina fue reconstruida e inaugurada oficialmente por el rey Carlos II de Ruman\u00eda durante la segunda guerra mundial, abriendo sus puertas en 1938, siendo reconocida como un gran logro para la \u00e9poca en t\u00e9rminos t\u00e9cnicos, econ\u00f3micos y militares. <\/p>\n<p>La Transalpina , o el \u201cCamino del Rey\u201d, como tambi\u00e9n es conocida. Se eleva a 2.145 metros sobre el nivel del mar y es otro largo recorrido de 148km.
