Romania is bracing up for more bad weather

WEATHER Romania’s National Administration of Meteorology has today issued a series of orange and yellow alerts for snowfalls and blizzards for several regions, including the capital city, Bucharest, in the following days. Snowfalls have been reported in the mountains as well as in the country’s west, north-west, north, center, north-east and east. Mixed precipitations have been reported in the south and heavy downpours in the south-east. A fresh layer of snow between 3 and 10 centimeters is expected in the country’s northern half and in the mountains. The wind has intensified in most of the regions but gale-force winds are expected in the south-west and south-east, and mainly in the mountains. The highs of the day are ranging between -7 and -5 degreed centigrade in the west and north-west and plus 8 – 10 degrees in the south-east. Zero degrees was the noon reading in Bucharest. According to meteorologists, the weather will continue to worsen starting Saturday with frosty nights and mornings until mid-January.
