At the end of this month, Romania’s national football team will face Turkey in the semi-finals of the play-offs for the World Cup this summer. This is why, during this period, the media and Romanian football specialists pay increased attention to the Romanian players playing abroad and who are eligible for the national team.
Among them is Dennis Man, the attacking midfielder of the Dutch team PSV Eindhoven. This season he proves to be one of the best scorers of his team, andthis past weekend he confirmed this status. In the 25th round of the Dutch first league on Saturday, in a match against Heracles in Almelo won by his team 3-1, Man scored PSV Eindhoven’s third goal (min 40). The Romanian player reached a total of 6 goals in 19 games played for PSV this season, which is why Radio Romania International designated him the Athlete of the Week.
Dennis Man was born on August 26, 1998, in western Romania, near Arad, in the village of Vladimirescu. He started playing football at a local club, then moved to the junior team of Atletico Arad and, finally, to the top team in his region, UTA Arad. He made his debut in professional senior competitions as a player for UTA in 2015, 3 days after his 17th birthday, in a second league game lost (1-2) against Gaz Metan Mediaș. In 2016, he made his debut in the top league, as part of FCSB, in a match against Universitatea Craiova, won 2-1.
In Romanian football, he only won one trophy, the Romanian Cup with FCSB in 2020, and scored the goal thanks to which his team won the final against Sepsi Sfântu Gheorghe. In 2021, he transferred to the Italian team Parma, and last year he joined PSV Eindhoven. He stood out in his team’s international matches, especially in the one won against Napoli, 6-2, in the Champions League groups, when he scored twice. He made his debut for the Romanian national team in March 2018, in a friendly match against Sweden. Man has played 43 matches for the national team, and scored 11 goals, the last of which was against San Marino, in November 2025. (AMP)
