On the same day, also in Ploieşti, the teams of Sweden and Ukraine ended the match in a goalless draw.

Saturday will see the matches pitting Ukraine against Serbia and Romania against Sweden, while on Tuesday, Serbia will face Sweden and Romania will be up against the team of Ukraine. The first ranked team will qualify to the final tournament scheduled for 16-29 July in Finland.

Romania previously qualified to the under-19 football championship final only once, in 2011. The then coach of Romania’s team was Lucian Burchel. Actually Romania qualified directly due to its position of host of the championship.

International player Răzvan Marin from Standard Liege is now wanted by AS Rome. According to the sports press in Bucharest, the footballer’s agent has already met with Eusebio di Franceso, AS Rome’s coach. The footballer’s father, who ended his sports career in 2011, told the ProSport daily that, for the time being, his son did not intend to part with the Belgian team. Last year, Răzvan Marin was transferred from Viitorul Constanţa to Standard Liege for 2.4 million Euros. In case of another transfer, 20% of the amount to be cashed in by the Belgian team will go to Viitorul Constanţa. According to Petre Marin, Standard Liege is not going to let Răzvan go for less than 8 or 9 million Euros.
