Three
of SCM Ramnicu Valcea’s handballers as well as a member of the staff have
tested positive for COVID-19, so this past Sunday’s match pitting SCM against
Borussia Dortmund was postponed. We recall that SCM Ramnicu Valcea’s game
against Podravka Korpivnica scheduled on October 11 was also postponed.
Matches
counting towards League One’s 8th round in football have been played
at the weekend. On Friday, guest team FC Botosani grabbed a 2-1 win against Gaz
Metan Medias, while the round’s surprise was provided by Academica Clinceni winning
the away game against Universitatea Craiova, 1-nil. On Saturday, UTA Arad won
the game against Chindia Târgovişte, 1-nil. In Giurgiu, the local side Astra grabbed
a 4-nil home win against Politehnica Iaşi, while in Sfântu Gheorghe, Sepsi defeated
Dinamo Bucharest, 2-nil. On Sunday in Ovidiu, Viitorul Constanţa were held by FC
Argeş to a 2-all draw. CFR Cluj grabbed a 1-nil away win against Football Club
Voluntari. Universitatea Craiova are the leader in the standings, with 21
points. They are followed by CFR Cluj, with 18.
